If Lacey Wotring’s many valuable characteristics were boiled down to one word, it would be organized. Lacey starts by thinking holistically about how to best reach a given project’s end goal. She then constantly maintains and updates her task lists to ensure she is moving each project to its next step every day. This approach enables Lacey to sustain her high level of work, from adaptive reuse projects like the Marti’s Restaurant renovation and Holt Residence on Royal Street to new constructions such as the Louisiana Leadership Institute, a large multi-purpose youth advancement complex in Baton Rouge that required specialized spaces like administrative offices, dance practice space, and a large band hall.
Lacey is also adept at navigating the many hurdles of New Orleans’ regulatory agencies. Her comprehensive method to a project timeline maximizes her efficiency with regards to permitting. This approach extends to how Lacey engages clients, giving her the ability to provide clients with specific dates throughout the process. Lacey believes that keeping the client organized and informed is the key to maintaining a successful project schedule, and as such is in constant dialogue with clients about project tasks, status updates, and upcoming deadlines. Lacey’s organizational skills help her cultivate her many adaptive reuse and historical renovation projects. She believes preserving existing structures and restoring blighted properties to glory helps the contiguous network of neighborhoods in New Orleans thrive. Lacey’s process and projects are inherently complicated, but she believes the end result is worth the effort.
